Baseball Sweeps Mid-Week DH
The Yetis baseball team took two victories from the Montreat College JV squad in a mid-week doubleheader on Wednesday.
Montreat hosted the games at Big League Camp in Marion and the Yetis won by scores of 3-0 and 8-6.
In game 1, Kael Snethen doubled, and Darian Munoz and Chris De Varona collected RBI's. Clayton Lanser-Proctor was the winning pitcher, throwing 5 shutout innings and striking out 6 Cavalier batters. Patrick Spangler and Graham Brown (Save) pitched scoreless in the final two innings. In game 2, Greg Johnson doubled and had 2 RBI's. Jack McKinney, Kyle Murphy, Kyras Dawson, and Micajah Wall each had 2 stolen bases. Kyle Flynn gave up no hits in 3.1 innings, striking out 6 batters. Connor Sampers pitched two scoreless innings and Avery Bridges held the Cavaliers scoreless in the final inning to collect the save.
The Yetis are back in action on March 16 as they travel to Caldwell Community College for a twilight doubleheader beginning at 3:30 pm.
