Yetis Sweep Guilford Tech
For the second consecutive weekend, the Yetis Baseball Team swept a Region 10 Conference series.
On Saturday, they defeated Guilford Tech by a score of 6-3 in both games of the doubleheader. On Sunday, the Yetis finished the sweep with a 14-6 victory in a run rule 8 inning game.
In game one, Mike Huber homered for his 5th on the season. Janniel Berroa would go six strong innings, giving up only 4 hits and striking out 11 Titans. Graham Brown pitched clean in the 9th inning to record the save. In game two, Kyras Dawson had four RBI's, three stolen bases and a run scored. Parker Kanupp would go 5 innings and recorded 11 strikeouts. Caleb Lafunor was credited with the save. In game 3, six Yetis doubled: Kael Snethen, Aidan Roberson, Ricky Dees, Davis Turner, Jack McKinney, and Mason Dugas. McKinney would total 3 RBI's on the day and Snethen stole 3 bases. Starter Kyle Murphy would go 5 innings, striking out 6 batters. Cole Curtis pitched scoreless in the final two innings to close out the game.
The Yetis are on the road Wednesday as they travel to Montreat College for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.
