Yetis Top CVCC
The CCC Baseball team won a mid-week contest versus Catawba Valley CC on Wednesday.
The Yetis won 6-4 before the home crowd at Yeti Athletics Park in a re-match of last year's Region 10 Tournament Championship.
Shane Lanier would pitch 3.1 innings while striking out four and giving up no hits. Denis Drinkwalter would go 3 scoreless innings and strike out three Red Hawk batters. Boone Cartee came on in the ninth inning to close out the victory for the Yetis. Kyle Murphy would collect three hits, including a double and a triple and Micajah Wall would drive in two runs to lead the offense.
"Our guys were down early in the game but battled back to get the win," said Head Coach John Grigg. "They showed the kind of effort and determination that's needed to beat a quality program like CVCC."
The Yeti Baseball team is on the road this weekend as they travel to Danville, VA to take on Patrick Henry CC for a Region 10 three game series on Saturday and Sunday.
