Baseball recap for the week of March 11

In a home doubleheader matchup between Patrick & Henry CC and CCC Yetis on Saturday, March 16, 2024, Patrick & Henry CC dominated both games with scores of 11-2 and 16-3. In the first game, Patrick & Henry got off to a strong start with a 2-0 lead in the first inning. The second game saw Patrick & Henry maintain their momentum, scoring 9 runs in the fourth inning alone. 

However, the Yetis came back on Sunday, March 17, 2024, to secure a win with a final score of 16-8 in the third game of the series. The game started off with Cleveland taking an early lead in the first inning, but Patrick & Henry fought back with a run in the second inning. However, Cleveland exploded for three runs in the third inning, extending their lead. Patrick & Henry managed to score five runs in the fourth inning, but Cleveland responded with two runs of their own. Cleveland sealed the victory with five runs in the seventh inning.

Cleveland's Kaden Swaim had a standout performance with a home run and five RBIs. Pitching-wise, Cleveland's Ian Hawk started the game and pitched three innings, allowing five runs. Gavin Waldrop, Clay Haigh, and Jack Nash also contributed on the mound for Cleveland Community College.
