Softball Takes Double Header at Wake Tech
The CCC Softball team won both games of their doubleheader at Wake Tech on Saturday. The Yetis won game one by a score of 12-10 and game two by a score of 27-6. The wins on Saturday tallied the 5th consecutive wins for the softball team and were all against Region 10 conference members. The 5 game winning streak marks the longest winning streak in team history.
In game 1, Sierra Crocker and Brianna Frye would homer for the offense. Crocker would pitch 7 innings and strike out 5 Eagle Batters. In game 2, Sydney Hamilton would homer and Crocker, Frye, Hamilton, Trinity Hatchel and Morgan McCurry would hit doubles. Hamilton and McCurry both had 5 RBI's to lead the offense. Brooke Dover pitched 4 innings, striking out 7 batters. Elizabeth Hartsell pitched the final inning of the game which was a run rule victory in 5 innings.
"The team has been on a good roll lately," said Head Coach Ronald Beaver. "We had excellent offensive production all throughout the line-up today."
The team is on the road again this weekend as they travel to Brunswick CC and Southeastern CC.
