Yetis Split with Potomac State
The Yetis Softball team gained their first win of the 2022 season against Potomac State (Keyser, WV) with a 12-4 win at Crest High School on Saturday. The teams split victories on Saturday and were scheduled for a four game series that was cut short due to rain on Sunday.
Brianna Frye led the Yetis offense with a homerun and a double on the day. Frye drove in 6 runs and had two runs scored. Brooke Dover pitched all 5 innings in the game which was cut short by run rule. Dover finished with 7 strikeouts over the Catamounts.
"We've been on the brink of busting through with a win," said Head Coach Ronald Beaver. "Brianna's homer gave us some momentum and we never looked back, and Brooke pitched a great game for us today."
The Yetis are back in action this weekend as they host Kaskaskia College (Centralia, IL) for a doubleheader at Crest High School on Friday with a noon start. And on Saturday, they travel to Gastonia for their Region 10 Conference opener with Gaston College.
