Yetis at Region 10 Tournament
Both the Baseball and Softball teams traveled to compete in their respective Region 10 Division II tournaments. Baseball was hosted at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City, NC and softball was hosted by Louisburg College in Louisburg, NC.
The Region 10 softball tournament started the previous week with the top 8 teams in the region competing in head-to-head 3 game series. Winners of the series then moved on to compete in a double elimination format tournament. The Yetis softball team qualified for the double elimination tournament with a doubleheader win at Pitt CC. The highlight of the tournament weekend was a 9-0 win versus Bryant and Stratton. Brooke Dover would pitch a complete game shutout in the win. Brianna Frye homered, and Kadence Hopper hit two home runs. The Yetis would fall in an elimination game to Catawba Valley 3-1. Softball finished the season with a 3rd place finish in the Region.
The Region 10 baseball tournament was highlighted by two 9thinning walk off wins for the Yetis. In their 5-3 victory over Wake Tech, Joshua Morgan hit a 3 run homerun to win the game. In their following game against Patrick & Henry, Caleb Adair would hit a RBI single to tie the game. The win was capped when Kael Snethen hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th to score Alex Adams tagging up from third (12-11 final). The Yetis would bow out of the tournament with a 5-4 loss to Lenoir CC in an elimination game. Baseball finished the season with an overall 33-17 record.
