Yetis Roll Past Catawba Valley, 84-54
Cleveland set the tone early at the Tarlton Complex, using a balanced offensive attack and relentless defensive pressure to earn an 84-54 win over Catawba Valley.
The Yetis opened the game with a 24-point first quarter and never looked back, outscoring the Red Hawks in every frame except the fourth. Cleveland shot an efficient 53.8% from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers, while holding Catawba Valley to just 33.3% shooting.
Kiya Shavers led the charge with 19 points, draining five shots from beyond the arc while adding four steals. Kari Lee followed with 18 points on an impressive 7-of-9 shooting performance, along with five rebounds and three assists.
De'Mya Phifer dominated the paint with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds to record a double-double, while also dishing out six assists. Sydnie Enste controlled the glass with 11 rebounds and added six points, two blocks, and strong interior defense.

Trailing after the first quarter, Cleveland settled in and closed the game on a 26-point fourth-quarter surge to seal the win.
Shavers delivered another strong performance with 20 points, connecting on six three-pointers. Phifer added 14 points and four made free throws, while Enste pulled down nine rebounds and went 5-of-6 from the line.
Brooks caught fire off the bench, scoring 10 points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting performance from beyond the arc. Isabella Childs was efficient in limited minutes, contributing seven points on 3-of-3 shooting.
Cleveland protected the basketball with just 11 turnovers and capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 82.4% of its attempts down the stretch.
