Lady Yetis Defeat Caldwell in a Reverse Sweep Victory
The Cleveland Community College volleyball team pulled off its biggest wins of the season Tuesday night, rallying from two sets down to defeat nationally ranked Caldwell Community College in a dramatic 3–2 reverse sweep on the road.
After dropping the opening sets 15–25 and 20–25, the Yetis regrouped and showed incredible grit to flip the momentum. Cleveland edged out a tight third set 25–23, powered by aggressive net play and improved serving, before dominating the fourth 25–18 to force a decisive fifth. The Yetis carried that fire into the final frame, closing out the comeback with a 15–11 win to hand Caldwell a rare home loss.
London Brown led the offensive surge with 15 kills, 9 digs, and 3 aces, while Ariann Hernandez added 11 kills, 15 digs, and a pair of blocks in a standout two-way performance. Setter Addison Beaver directed the offense with 23 assists and chipped in 16 digs and 2 aces, while Avery Lindsey contributed 13 assists and strong serving from the back line.
At the net, Amelia Pilgrim was clutch with 7 kills and a .294 hitting percentage, and Truly Gibbs added valuable defensive pressure with 4 blocks. The Yetis' back row, anchored by Hernandez and Clutter (12 digs), kept rallies alive throughout the comeback.
As a team, Cleveland finished with 71 digs and 9 aces, showing both toughness and poise under pressure.
